Pieter du Preez

Pieter du Preez graduated from the University of Johannesburg in 1988 with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, followed by a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree in 1989. Between 1999 and 2001, Pieter qualified as a chartered financial analyst.

Pieter started his professional career in 1991 in the mining finance team of Gold Fields of South Africa, before moving into the financial markets environment in 1996.

During the subsequent 20 years, he worked mostly as a financial analyst and corporate finance executive with a boutique restructuring house and two corporate finance advisories. He often consulted to listed and private mining development companies in areas such as financial management, cash flow modelling and valuations, business feasibility assessments, investment analysis, as well as in structuring and execution of corporate merger, acquisition and investment transactions.

After consulting to Taung Gold (Pty) Limited for 8 months, Pieter joined the team full-time in January 2018. In 2023, he left Taung and joined Blyvoor Gold as its CFO.
