Riaan Hanekom was been appointed as the Group Chief Financial Officer for Pepkor Holdings in August 2018. Prioor to this he was the CFO for Steinhoff Africa Retail (STAR). He completed his articles with EY in 1995. He then spent six years with Shoprite as a Financial Manager. He joined Woolworths in 2001 and was the Woolworths Retail Operations Group Head of Finance and Admin when he joined the Pepkor Group in 2006 as Commercial Director of Shoe City. After that he became the Commercial Director of Ackermans in 2008 and their Financial Director in 2009. Riaan also serves as a director on a number of subsidiaries in the STAR Group. He has a B.Com with Honours from the University of Johannesburg and is a Chartered Accountant CA (SA).
