Rupesh Govan has been the FD of Investec since 2022, when it became part of Standard Bank. He came into the role from the now parent organisation, where he served as the CFO of Client Solutions for a year, after being CFO of the Wealth Division for five years. He started at the bank in 2004 as a CFO, and was later promoted to senior manager before leaving the group for a short break.
He served as a finance executive at PBB Central Finance and Peregrine Bank, respectively, between 2010 and 2016.
Rupesh’s finance career began at EY, where he was an article clerk and audit manager after receiving his BCompt (honours) degree from the University of South Africa. He qualified as a CA(SA) in 2000.
