Stephen Pearce has been the financial director of Anglo American since 2017.
Stephen Pearce became a member of Anglo American group management committee in January 2017 and was appointed to the board as finance director in April 2017. He is also a non-executive director of Anglo American Platinum and De Beers. He was appointed as an independent non-executive director of BAE Systems on 1 June 2019.
Stephen has more than 16 years of public company director experience and 30 years of financial and commercial experience in the mining, oil and gas, and utilities industries. Before joining Anglo American, Stephen served as CFO and an executive director of Fortescue Metals Group from 2010 to 2016. Prior to that, he held the positions of managing director and CEO of Southern Cross Electrical Engineering and was CFO of Alinta. Until January 2017 he served as a non-executive director of Cedar Woods Properties.
Stephen has a bachelor of business from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and a graduate diploma in company secretarial practice. He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and a Member of the Governance Institute of Australia and the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
