Thembelihle Mjaji-Mbatha is the group chief financial officer at Mintek, a role she has held since November 2025.
Before joining Mintek, Thembelihle served as an independent consultant for special projects and as the chief financial officer for Community Schemes Ombud Services, where she also briefly acted as the chief executive officer.
She previously served as the chief financial officer at the South African National Aids Council Trust, overseeing the financial administration, supply chain, and compliance management.
Earlier in her career, she held senior finance positions as the chief financial officer at the Inkomati-Usuthu Catchment Management Agency, financial manager at the Mpumalanga Gambling Board, and audit supervisor at KPMG.
Thembelihle is a qualified CA(SA) and holds an MBL, a BCompt honours in accounting, and a BCompt in accounting sciences from the University of South Africa (UNISA).
Throughout her career, she has received numerous accolades, including winning the 2018 Oliver Tambo public sector leader award and being nominated for the Standard Bank Top women award in the public sector in 2023.
Thembelihle currently serves as an independent advisor to the audit and risk committee of the SABC and is a member of the SAICA Public Sector committee.
