Eskom suspends its CIO, Sean Maritz

Eskom has suspended Sean Maritz, its CIO and former acting CEO.

Eskom has suspended its chief information officer, Sean Maritz, pending an investigation into allegations of impropriety. Maritz has been in the power utiity’s employ since 1998, and stood in as acting CEO for a brief period during 2017.

Eskom said in a statement:

“The temporary suspension of chief information officer, Mr. Sean Maritz, has now been converted to a permanent suspension pending an investigation into allegations of impropriety.”

The CIO’s suspension comes not long after the resignation of Anoj Singh, its suspended CFO.

Maritz is the sixth exec to leave Eskom since the appointment of the new CEO and board.
