4AX appoints Eugene Booysen as its new CEO

Booysen will be taking over from interim CEO Sean Emery with immediate effect.

4 Africa Exchange (4AX) has announced the appointment of Eugene Booysen as its new CEO. Eugene will be taking over from RainFin CEO Sean Emery, who has been serving as acting CEO of 4AX. 

According to the statement, Emery had been heading up the “rigorous” recruitment process.

Along with Booysen, the company also announced the appointment of Hannes van der Merwe as COO and Warren Squires as CEO of 4AX Debt Services Company.  

4AX chairman Mfundiso Njeke thanked Emery for the role he has played in stepping in as interim CEO and his ongoing contributions to the exchange. “We are also very excited to have Eugene, Hannes and Warren onboard as collectively they bring near 70 years’ experience in advancing financial solutions, but also incredible talent, technical expertise and operational and management experience, to the helm of 4AX to lead the exchange and debt services business forward,” he said. 

Booysen has worked within the industry for 25 years. He has fulfilled several executive and leadership roles across retail, corporate and investment banking. He has also served as a contracted consultant on innovation and change management. His experience includes new business creation and revenue generation, as well as infrastructure and risk management.
