AFGRI group financial director Johan Geel has followed his 2016 nomination by being nominated for a CFO Award in 2017. The annual 'Oscars for South African CFOs', to be held on 11 May, recognises CFOs of listed companies, large corporations, state-owned entities and government institutions and awards them for outstanding performance and leadership.

A chartered accountant, Johan has served as CFO at AFGRI since October 2012 and has occupied a number of senior positions since joining the company in 1995. He was also an audit manager at PwC Meyernel.

It boasts financial services, foods and agri-services and is listed on the JSE. It provides services across the entire grain production and storage cycle, offering financial support and solutions as well as inputs and hi-tech equipment.
