DRDGold CFO Riaan Davel joins the list of leaders competing for the CFO of the Year title.
Riaan Davel has been nominated for the 2024 CFO Awards for his work at DRDGold.
He joins the list of nominees who will be competing to take home one (or more) of the 10 awards that will be up for grabs at the annual “Oscars of Finance”, including the coveted CFO of the Year title.
Following the grandiose success of the 10th Annual CFO Awards in 2023, CFO South Africa continues to shine a spotlight on the finest in finance and their achievements in the last year. On 13 November, the 2024 CFO Awards nominees will be celebrated during a gala ceremony at The Polo Room in Sandton.
Riaan was appointed CFO of DRDGold in January 2015. Prior to this, he was an audit partner at KPMG for seven years, where he conducted audits for listed mining companies including SEC registrants. His other experience includes assurance and advisory services, along with support and training on International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), to clients and teams across Africa.
He has experience as an IFRS Technical Partner, having represented SAICA in the International Accounting Standards Board’s project on Extractive Activities from 2003 to 2010. Riaan has also served on committees compiling or updating the South African codes for reporting and valuation of mineral reserves and resources.
