Afrimat's Pieter de Wit nominated for CFO Awards 2017

Afrimat FD Pieter de Wit has been nominated for the 2017 CFO Awards. The annual 'Oscars for South African CFOs', to be held on 11 May, recognise CFOs of listed companies, large corporations, state-owned entities and government institutions, and awards them for outstanding performance and leadership.

Pieter was appointed as FD from 1 March 2016. Prior to his appointed as FD he was the regional director of the group's KwaZulu-Natal and Free State operations where he was responsible for the strategic repositioning of these businesses since 1 October 2013. He also held various other leadership roles in Afrimat since joining the group in 2008, including company secretary and chief audit executive. In 2013, he had a five-month stint as company secretary at resources firm Infrasors.

He qualified as a chartered accountant in 2002 and worked for 16 years at PwC prior to joining Afrimat. He graduated cum laude from Stellenbosch University's MBA programme in 2015 and also holds a post-graduate certificate in tax from Unisa.
