Alan Winde in Search of Excellence in Holland

post-title

Last Thursday 6 June, the CFO Community in Holland had the great honour to welcome Alan Winde - Western Cape Minister of Finance, Economic Development and Tourism - at her annual CFO Day event. During this year’s edition more than 400 CFOs of major Dutch companies discussed “The road to Excellence” during an interactive and lively program.

After a roundtable discussion about the business opportunities that exist between the Dutch and the South African business communities, mr Winde and his wife Tracy joined the CFO dinner in the beautiful Kurhaus at the beach in Scheveningen. It was a splendid opportunity to network and strengthen the relationships between two countries that already have a very deep historical bond.

His Excellency Peter Goosen - Ambassador for South Africa in Holland, Jozias van Aartsen - the Mayor of the city of The Hague and the founders of CFO South Africa, Alex van Groningen en Melle Eijckelhoff, joined them that evening.

Minister Winde left early the next morning to visit the city of Eindhoven and to meet the Dutch business community during a reception of the South African Netherlands Chamber of Commerce (SANEC).

One of the goals of his visits was to share ideas and experiences with building and stimulating high tech start-up businesses and facilitate the development of a 'brain-port'.
