She says:

“I felt privileged to have been requested to join the CFO Awards 2020 judging panel. As a listed company CFO across a variety of sectors for almost 17 years, I am aware of the challenges faced by CFOs and what it takes to be successful in the current environment. The role of the CFO has evolved to be a strategic advisor and a strong partner to the business while remaining the gatekeeper of the company.”

She explains that the CFO Awards function is inspirational for the nominees and recognises CFOs across industries both in the public and private sector. “For me personally, it was inspirational to be recognised as a female leader and to pay it forward. In particular, this award was also great recognition for my team and motivated other female leaders.”

Christine’s winning streak was also the first time anyone took home four awards. The other three awards she won out of the 10 prizes offered that night were the Compliance & Governance Award, the High-Performance Team Award, and the Moving into Africa Award. Christine also won the Finance & Technology Award at the 2016 CFO Awards.

She adds that the Awards event itself provides an excellent opportunity to meet and interact with other CFOs:

“I always look forward to attending this wonderful networking event. It has been encouraging to see the support for the CFO community grow through the sponsorship and attendees of the event. Long may it last!”
