El Kope, who has been acting CFO since August 2023, has been appointed as Cell C’s new CFO and executive FD.
Cell C has appointed El Kope as its new CFO and executive director of finance. She has been serving as the company’s acting CFO since August 2023, when Lerato Pule stepped down.
According to a statement by the company, during her time as acting CFO, El’s swift actions have significantly improved governance, stabilised the finance department, and strengthened relationships with critical stakeholders.
“It is truly an honour to lead financial excellence at Cell C as we embark on this exciting growth journey and am humbled by the confidence that the Cell C management and board have placed in me. I am looking forward to being part of our collective success,” said El about the appointment.
She joined Cell C in September 2022 as the executive head of FP&A. Before this, El was the FD at Tsebo International and ATS International, respectively. She served as the CFO for Africa and South Africa at DHL Supply Chain South Africa for three years. She has also been a financial services manager for Coca-Cola Central East and West Africa and an internal auditor for Coca-Cola Africa. She started her career as a finance trainee and plant planner at South African Breweries after completing her articles at Gobodo Incorporated.
El Kope is a qualified CA(SA) with an honours degree in accounting from the University of KwaZulu-Natal.
