CFOs of Gold Fields, Howden, Spar and Morvest interviewed by award judges

Members of the panel of judges for the CFO Awards 2015 is currently interviewing the nominated CFOs to help them decide who is going to be CFO of the Year and who will win the other 9 coveted awards.

Last week Thursday judge Christo Els, senior partner at law firm Webber Wentzel, spoke to Paul Schmidt, Financial Director at mining company Gold Fields. Schmidt is a very open and passionate character who grew up in mining town Welkom and climbed the ladder at Gold Fields until he became finance boss. "I have no aspirations to become CEO," he told Els, adding that he feels completely in the right place as CFO.

On Friday judge Victor Sekese, CEO of services firm SizweNtsalubaGobodo, was at hand to interview Kevin Johnson, the young CFO of Howden Africa. He spoke about his love for South Africa and running a profitable business in times where Howden's main clients - mining companies and Eskom - are struggling. Sekese was back into the action on Monday, when he spoke to Spar Group's Financial Director Mark Godfrey.

Suren Singh, CFO of Morvest Business Group, was also interviewed on Monday. Sing is a platinum member of CFO South Africa.
