The firm continues to support finance leaders at the 2019 CFO Awards and CFO SA events.
The year 2019 has received a massive boost for CFOs before it has even started. Professional services firm Deloitte is renewing its commitment to support the best knowledge and networking events for finance professionals in South Africa. It has also pledged to keep contributing its insights to CFO Magazine, the preferred magazine for finance leaders.
As the principal partner at the CFO Awards on 8 May 2019, Deloitte will hand out three of the most coveted awards, including the ultimate prize to the CFO of the Year.
Delise Muller, Head of Clients at Deloitte South Africa, says:
“Making an impact that matters is why we exist as a firm. The CFO Awards provide a great platform to recognise CFOs who are making an impact to their organisation, employees, customers and as well the economy. We are proud to partner with CFO South Africa to celebrate the country’s leading finance professionals.”
Besides the awards, Deloitte will also be supporting the much-anticipated March CFO Summit in Cape Town and CFO Day, the preeminent day for learning and networking on the CFO calendar. CFO Day is a high intensity, one day conference where the best finance leaders share experiences, knowledge and business opportunities. “Deloitte is extremely proud of its partnership with CFO South Africa, a world-class organisation who shares a similar vison for CFOs,” says Delise.

Toughest job in the world
Delise explains that the commitment to support CFOs and FDs comes naturally to the firm.
“At Deloitte, we really see the CFO as one of the key custodians of our economy, and therefore the impact they make is critical. It is one of the toughest jobs in the world. We believe it requires a strategic partner that helps CFOs manage the complexities of their role, tackle their companies’ most compelling challenges and adapt to strategic shifts in the market. We pride ourselves on being that strategic partner and pre-eminent advisor to the CFO.”
“We leverage multidisciplinary teams of Deloitte experts to help CFOs address their most important priorities, enabling the finance function to support and create value for their business: from establishing finance as a trusted partner to the business to developing a high-performance operating model, improving core processes and managing ongoing company performance.”
John Deane, community manager at CFO South Africa, expresses his enthusiasm for further alignment with Deloitte:
“This marks the third year of our ongoing partnership with Deloitte. They are a fantastic partner who share our values and are aligned with our vision. We’re looking forward to working together on delivering recognition, knowledge sharing and a powerful community platform for CFOs in 2019.”
