DA lays corruption charges against Eskom CFO Anoj Singh

DA leader Mmusi Maimane has laid several charges on various individuals, including Eskom CFO Anoj Singh (pictured right with Transnet CFO Garry Pita at the 2017 CFO Awards), in the wake of the leaked Gupta emails.

A chain of emails leaked in the ongoing Gupta email scandal has revealed that Singh, during his tenure as Transnet CFO, enjoyed trips to Dubai paid for by the Gupta-family over the period when Transnet awarded a R.8 billion tender to Neotel.

According to media reports, further emails have revealed that Singh was also treated to a nine-day trip to Dubai in December 2015.

Maimane has called this a "textbook example of bribery and corruption". He said:

"I have therefore brought charges of corruption against Mr Anoj Singh, in addition to the criminal charges I laid earlier this week against President Zuma, members of the Gupta family, and several Cabinet ministers and executives of SOEs."
