Fasset reappoints Ayanda Mafuleka as its CEO

Ayanda has served as CEO since January 2019, and will continue to serve in the role until March 2025.

The Financial and Accounting Sector Education and Training Authority (Fasset) has announced the reappointment of Ayanda Mafuleka as its CEO. The reappointment of Ayanda is for a period of five years, effective from 1 November 2020 to 31 March 2025.

Ayanda started working at Fasset in January 2019. According to a statement by the company, she has served the Seta with passion, hard work and honour over the past 19 months.

Ayanda is a qualified CA(SA). She holds a B.Com honours degree and is currently studying towards the LLB degree. With a finance career that spans more than 17 years, she has worked mostly in the public sector.

She previously served as the CFO of state coal mining company African Exploration, Mining and Finance Corporation (AEMFC). Prior to her AEMFC she was CFO at the National Credit Regulator. She has worked in finance across a diverse range of departments in government including Transtel, the National Ports Authority, National Treasury, Department of Home Affairs and Johannesburg City Parks and Zoo. Her career has also seen her move through various leadership roles in the Robben Island Museum and the National Credit Regulator.

“She has been instrumental in leaving legacies of clean audits, sound financial and performance management, implementing turnaround strategies, plugging in effective internal controls and processes, as well as governance structures,” the statement reads.
