The group has announced that its CEO and COO also plan to leave, following on the heels of exiting CFO.

Royal Bafokeng Platinum (RBPlat) has appointed its head of finance Rotshidzwa Manenzhe as its new acting CFO. She will be taking over from Hanré Rossouw, who will be leaving the mine in April to join Sasol as its new CFO-designate.

Rotshidzwa has more than 11 years experience in financial reporting in the financial services, mining and yellow metals industries. After obtaining both her BCom honours and master’s in taxation in record time, she completed her articles at KPMG. After being at Nedbank for a year, she spent three years at Standard Bank and a further three years at Exxaro. In February 2017, she joined Bell Equipment as a regional finance director, where she was tasked with providing strategic direction to the company’s African operations.

The announcement comes as RBPlat CEO Steve Phiri has announced that he will be retiring after 11 years at the company. However, markets are concerned about who will be taking his place after Hanré’s departure, and COO Neil Carr’s plans to also leave the firm.

But Steve and Neil have both said they will stay until a suitable new leadership team has been appointed.
