post-title

Liberty Group has won the 2015 EY Excellence in Integrated Reporting Awards. The prize, announced earlier today, is a great feather in the cap of CFO Casper Troskie, who has been with the financial services company since 2010. We spoke to Troskie earlier this year during an exclusive interview, in which has recalled his proudest moments, elaborated on the culture change that Liberty and gave some valuable advice for ambitious CAs. The former Standard Bank CFO said he is "in the best job I have ever been in... It has been a great journey, but I see the task only as a third of the way done.”

A few CFOs who have been nominated for the previous two editions of the CFO Awards saw their companies also rewarded for their integrated thinking. Among them were Aarti Takoordeen (JSE Limited), Michael Fleming (Clicks), Bongani Nqwababa (former Anglo American Platinum) and Anoj Singh, the impressive Transnet CFO who is now trying to save Eskom from its financial woes. Despite those troubles, Eskom did get honoured for their integrated report, as did the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC), Massmart, Exxaro and Barloworld.
