Toro Gold has announced the appointment of Martin Page with effect from 8 October.
After the retirement of former Toro Gold CFO Gary Townsend, the search for a new CFO commenced in May.
This week, Toro Gold announced the appointment Martin Page to the position. He has over 12 years’ experience in finance and prior to joining Toro Gold, he served as CFO at the Curzon Group and the head of finance at Amara Mining.
Gary remains available to the company on a reduced-hours basis, to provide continuity and support over the 12 months.
Toro CEO Martin Horgan commented on Thursday:
“I am delighted that Martin has joined our company at this exciting stage of our growth. He has highly relevant experience in West Africa gold mining and development and is ideally placed to continue the good work completed by Gary and team over the last nine years. We wish Gary all the very best for his retirement and thank him for his hard work and the important part he has played in our current success.”
He then added:
“Despite the challenge of having two senior executives named Martin in the company, we look forward to updating you on our progress over the coming months as we continue to identify and deliver on those opportunities to grow the company.”
