Hulisani's CFO Masibulele Dem has been nominated for the CFO Awards 2019.

Masibulele Dem has been nominated for his role as CFO at Hulisani, a role in which he expresses his passion for finance and investments. 

The CFO Awards 2019, known as the ‘Oscars for South African finance professionals’, gives CFOs of listed companies, large corporations, state-owned entities and government institutions the opportunity to be recognised and rewarded for their exceptional performance and leadership.

Masibulele was appointed CFO of Hulisani in July 2017. He has 15 years with various companies that include KPMG, Barclays, Standard Bank, Mazwe Financial Services and Africa Rising Capital. Masibulele has experience in controllership, investments and treasury, and strategy and planning.

Masibulele’s particular interest is in the energy sector of sub-Saharan Africa where the supply of energy remains such a challenge. 

He is a Chartered Accountant (SA) with a B.Com (Honours) from UCT and the University of KwaZulu-Natal.

As an African energy investment company, Hulisani has the means to invest in all forms of sustainable energy from the conventional such as coal and gas, to renewable energy in the form of solar, wind, hydro and biomass energy plants. They are diverse, professional and aware of the realities and vagaries of the market.

Hulisani listed as a Special Purpose Acquisition Company (SPAC) on the Main Board of the Johannesburg Stock Exchange in April 2016. Post listing, they secured some exciting investments in there quest to establish a pipeline of sustainable quality investments in the energy sector.
