Michael Jordaan appointed chairman of the board of Clickatell

Willem van Biljon and Ryno Blignaut were also appointed to the global messaging services company board.

Global customer engagement company Clickatell, announced on Tuesday that they had appointed Michael Jordaan as chairman of the board. 

His appointment, along with two others, marks the start of the company’s next phase of growth and global expansion. 

Michael is a respected financial services expert, venture capitalist and serial entrepreneur. He previously served as the CEO at FNB, which was named the “World’s Most Innovative Bank” at the 2012 Global Banking Innovation Awards under his leadership. 

He now heads up Montegray Capital, a private investment company, and lends a strategic hand to various businesses, including as chairman of CompuScan, director and shareholder of the JSE, chairman of Wines of South Africa and as director and shareholder of RAIN

Willem van Biljon and Ryno Blignaut were also appointed to the board along with Michael. 

Willem is an entrepreneur and technologist, who co-founded Mosaic Software and developed the Postilion payment system. He later joined Amazon, where he led the team that developed Amazon’s Elastic COmpute Cloud (EC2), now Amazon Cloud. He has also worked extensively with Takealot.com, where he served as CTO and currently as an advisor.
 
Ryno has 23 years of financial experience and currently serves as president, chief financial and administrative officer at Restoration Hardware. He also served as the chief business officer of Wheels Up, a private aviation company. 

He was the CFO and chief risk officer at Xoom Corporation and was instrumental in Xoom’s 2013 public offering on the Nasdaq stock exchange and its subsequent $890 million acquisition by Paypal in 2015.
