Nedbank adds Chartered Secretary Award to line-up of 2019 reporting Awards

Nedbank Group CFO Raisibe Morathi: This recognition is the result of lots of hard work.

Nedbank has been announced as the overall winner in integrated reporting at the Chartered Secretary Awards on Thursday evening, 14 November. 
Nedbank Group CFO Raisibe Morathi said that she is “so immensely proud”.

“These things don’t happen every day, so when they do happen, it’s worthwhile to be humble and reflect,” she said. “This recognition is the result of lots of hard work, and we’re very excited that it’s paying off.” 

She said that the company has a number of people who are living the Nedbank philosophy who contribute to the company’s reporting excellence. “We gave so many talented people in corporate sustainability who are knowledgeable about what the key drivers in business performance are. 

Nedbank has been lining up the awards this year, including: 

  • Overall winner at the 34th Investment Analysts Society (IAS) Awards, winning the Best Reporting and Communication Award. Read more: Leaders in financial reporting deliver insights into how to achieve excellence
  • Voted by the members of the Investment Analysts Society as the leader in Corporate Reporting and Communication in the Banking sector for the 2018 financial year (second year in a row). 
  • 1st place with Honours at the 2019 EY Excellence in Integrated Reporting Awards (second year in a row). 
  • Overall winner at the 2019 Chartered Secretaries Southern Africa (CSSA)/ Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) Integrated Reporting Awards

Raisibe concluded: 

“To get recognition from there completely distinct groups about our integrated reporting, about our level of comprehensible financials, we really appreciate that and are encouraged by it.”
