Ombud Council head of finance Devrani Moonsamy has been nominated for the 2026 CFO Awards, recognising her extensive public sector finance leadership across South Africa’s regulatory institutions, including previous senior roles at the Competition Tribunal and Competition Commission.
Devrani Moonsamy has served as head of finance at the Ombud Council since October 2023, after spending seven years in the same role at the Competition Tribunal of South Africa. Prior to that, she held the position of head of finance at the Competition Commission of South Africa.
Earlier in her career, she briefly worked as a financial consultant at Deloitte in 2013, following her role as financial management consultant and CFO at Boxing South Africa for two years. She began her professional journey at the Auditor-General of South Africa and holds a BCom in accounting and finance from the University of KwaZulu-Natal.
Dubbed the “Oscars of Finance”, the CFO Awards continues to celebrate leaders who raise the bar for people leadership in South Africa across listed companies, large corporates and government institutions.
The 2026 nominees will be celebrated at a gala event on 26 November, where winners across multiple categories, including the CFO of the Year title, will be announced
