The DRDGold CFO joins the list of 2022 CFO Awards nominees competing for the CFO of the Year title.
Riaan Davel has been nominated for the 2022 CFO Awards for his work as the CFO of DRDGold.
He joins the list of nominees who will be competing for the prestigious CFO of the Year title, at the annual “Oscars for South African finance professionals”, which is now entering its eighth year.
During the prestigious awards ceremony, CFOs of listed companies, large corporations, state-owned entities and government institutions are recognised and rewarded for their outstanding performance and leadership.
Riaan was appointed CFO of DRDGold in January 2015. Prior to this, he was an audit partner at KPMG for seven years, where he conducted audits for listed mining companies including SEC registrants.
Riaan has over 17 years of experience in the mining industry, mostly in the African mining sector. His experience includes assurance and advisory services, along with support and training on International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), to clients and teams across Africa.
He also has experience as an IFRS Technical Partner, having represented SAICA in the International Accounting Standards Board’s project on Extractive Activities from 2003 to 2010. He has also served on committees compiling or updating the South African codes for reporting and valuation of mineral reserves and resources.
