Rochelle Gabriels has been announced as the new CFO of AECI

Rafael Fernandes who has been acting CFO will return to his duties as FD of AECI Mining.

Chemicals group AECI has announced the appointment of Rochelle Gabriels as CFO and executive director from 29 September.

Rochelle joins AECI from Imperial, where she served as head of finance logistics and shared services for DP World sub-Saharan Africa.

In a statement announcing Rochelle’s appointment, AECI chairperson Dr Khotso Mokhele stated: “On behalf of the board I am excited to welcome Rochelle to the group and we are confident that AECI will benefit from her strong leadership and deep financial experience. Rochelle's appointment further strengthens the board in terms of skills and diversity, positioning AECI for even greater success in the future.” 

Rochelle succeeds Rafael Fernandes, who has been acting in the CFO role following the resignation of former CFO Aarti Takoordeen in April. Rafael will return to his duties as FD of AECI Mining after completion of the handover to Rochelle.
