South African Nick Barry to drive growth as new CFO of Ireland's Allergy Standards

Nick will be responsible for aligning the financial operations with the strategic goals of the business.

Ireland-based Allergy Standards (ASL) has announced the appointment of South African Nick Barry as its new CFO. 

“I look forward to leading change and continuing to drive growth within ASL in this new leadership role. Since joining the team in 2019 it has been a greatly rewarding experience working in a highly innovative environment at such an exciting time in the company’s journey,” Nick said about his appointment. 

Prior to his appointment as CFO, Nick served as head of commercial finance and commercial finance manager respectively. 

Nick has over 13 years’ experience working in multinational professional services businesses in various financial leadership roles. The most recent of these was in the role of regional head of financial systems and management accountant for WSP Africa

He started his career as a financial accountants officer for Capital Data and was later appointed as the finance team leader. He then joined MBD Credit Solutions as a manager of legal creditors and an accountant. 

He graduated from the University of South Africa with a bachelor of business administration. Following this, he went on to complete his CIMA professional qualification, becoming an associate chartered management accountant (ACMA)and receiving the chartered global management accountant (CGMA) designation.
