The Meeting Specialist a service provider of JSE, not a partner

The JSE has retracted its statement of a partnership with The Meeting Specialist on AGMs in SA.

The Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) has retracted its announcement of a partnership with The Meeting Specialist (TMS) to launch the first virtual AGMs in South Africa, saying there will no longer be a partnership.

The JSE said in a statement that, in an unfortunate misuse of wording, it incorrectly referred to the arrangement as a ‘partnership’ and that TMS is a service provider of the JSE. It also stressed that the services provided by TMS are not regulated by the JSE.

The retracted statement had said that the JSE had partnered with TMS “to enable clients to engage with shareholders when the country is faced with tackling the Covid-19 pandemic”.
