Tiger Brands to welcome new CFO with new year

Following the resignation of Deepa Sita, Tiger Brands has appointed a new CFO, Thushen Govender, who will step into the role in January 2024.

Tiger Brands has announced the appointment of Thushen Govender as its new CFO, starting January 2024. He takes over from Deepa Sita, who resigned earlier in the year and will step down from the role in December.

According to the company, Thushen will have oversight of finance, information technology, procurement, as well as customer service and logistics functions in the role.

He has a long history with the company, serving as the executive of group strategy, investor relations and business development from 2005 until 2013. At the time he was primarily responsible for the development and execution of Tiger Brands’ growth strategy.

He returned to the company again in 2021 as the chief growth officer, after working as the business executive of international operations and group acquisitions at Pioneer Foods and the group commercial officer at Aspen Pharma Group.

Thushen has also worked for Standard Bank as a business strategy planning manager, and for Deloitte as a senior consultant supervisor.

He is a qualified CA(SA) with an MBA from Henley Management College.
