Nu-World Industries has appointed Travers Cape as its new CFO and interim company secretary.
Consumer goods company Nu-World Industries has announced the appointment of Travers Cape as its new CFO and interim company secretary with immediate effect.
His appointment follows the resignation of Bruce Hall Haikney as the company secretary.
“I have worked across several industries including, engineering, construction and retail. I believe with my career experience across two large multinationals and my interest in seeing employees and colleagues develop and grow that I am ready for the next step of becoming a CFO,” he says. “I believe my experience together with my positive and problem solving outlook, will assist me in achieving my career goals.”
Travers is a qualified CA(SA) with an MBA. He completed his articles at EY in 2007 and then served a three-month secondment in San Francisco. He spent the next three years working as an audit manager at EY on some of the largest audit clients in South Africa. In 2011 he joined Babcock Africa, where he served in various finance roles. In 2018 he headed up the finance function at a small construction company and in 2019 he consulted to various organisations on strategy and finance. In February 2020 he joined Masscash, a division of Massmart, as a senior financial manager leading the shared services centre.
