Vurhonga Rikhotso appointed as CFO of Bonitas Medical Fund

Vurhonga joins Bonitas with a strong background in auditing and governance.

Vurhonga Rikhotso has been appointed as the chief financial officer of the Bonitas Medical Fund, effective 1 February 2025. 

Vurhonga is a qualified chartered accountant with 16 years of experience across both the public and private sectors. Her skill set includes financial reporting, risk management and strategic leadership. 

Her career began at KPMG in 2008 as a trainee auditor. This was followed by just over 11 years at the Auditor General of South Africa, where she spent time working across various divisions including as audit supervisor, assistant audit manager and eventually audit manager.  She then joined Transnet serving for just under four years as a senior specialist for governance, risk and control. 

She holds a BCom in accounting and finance from the University of KwaZulu-Natal as well as a postgraduate diploma in applied accounting sciences, accounting and finance from the University of South Africa.
