Willie will be leaving the role in September, and Emma Oosthuizen will step in as interim CFO.
Buffalo Coal has announced that its CFO, Willie Bezuidenhout, will step down from the role from 18 September.
Willie was appointed as CFO in March 2020 following the resignation of Graham du Preez, who had been acting as interim CFO since August 2019.
Willie is a qualified CA(SA) and a seasoned finance executive with a track record of capable financial leadership in mining companies. He has previously held senior finance positions at Uranium One and the Public Investment Corporation.
The coal producer has started the search for Willie’s successor, but in the meantime, CEO Emma Oosthuizen will take over the role of interim CFO along with her current role.
Emma previously served as CFO of Buffalo Coal from October 2018 until August 2019, when she was appointed as interim CEO. In 2020, she was promoted to the CEO role.
