Lucas Verwey has been the group FD of Distell since September 2015.
Lucas is a qualified CA(SA) with a CFA degree in accounting and business management. He also holds a bachelor of accounting science degree.
He joined Distell in 2014 as a non-executive director before being appointed as group FD. From 2013 to 2015 he served as the FD of CapeVin Holdings. Before that, he served as an investment executive at Remgro for five years.
Lucas has previously been nominated for the 2017 CFO Awards for his work as the group FD of Distell.
For his work as the group FD of Distell, Lucas was nominated for the 2021 CFO Awards, and walked away with the Moving into Africa Award!
