Paul Schmidt was appointed CFO of Gold Fields on 1 January 2009 and joined the Board on 6 November 2009. Prior to this, he held the positions of acting CFO from 1 May 2008 and Financial Controller from 1 April 2003. He has more than 21 years’ experience in the mining industry. Paul has a B.Com degree from the University of Wits and a B.Compt Honours degree from UNISA. He is also a qualified Chartered Accountant (SA).
