CFO Mark Stirton moves to New Zealand

Former Mr Price CFO Mark Stirton has joined New Zealand retailer The Warehouse with effect from 1 April.

Mark Stirton has been appointed as the CFO of The Warehouse in Auckland, New Zealand, starting from 1 April. Formerly the CFO of South African Mr Price, Mark already has significant experience leading the finances of a listed retailer.

Mark stepped down from his role at Mr Price at the end of July and remained with the group until March to facilitate a handover with his successor, Praneel Nundkumar.

Mark was with Mr Price for almost 10 years, joining the company as group finance head of strategic projects in June 2014. He was promoted to group FD in 2016, and became CFO in 2019.

Before this, he was the group commercial manager of strategic business development and pharma affairs at Pharma Group for a year, and managing director of Eurotap Investments for eight years, respectively.

Mark’s career started at PwC as an articled clerk. He is a qualified CA(SA) and FCMA with multiple MBAs in accounting and finance, digital business, as well as business administration and management from global universities.
