Pieter van Buuren announces his new role and duties at Global Macadamias

Pieter van Buuren will focus on expanding the Mpumalanga-based company into the global market.

Pieter van Buuren has announced his appointment as the new CFO of Global Macadamias.

“I am thrilled to share that I've started a new role as chief financial officer at Global Macadamias Co, a leader in the macadamia industry!” Pieter shared on LinkedIn.

“This opportunity allows me to combine my passion for sustainable agriculture with my financial experience, helping drive innovation and growth in one of the world’s most unique and nutritious crops.”

“I look forward to working alongside an incredibly talented team dedicated to enhancing the value and sustainability of macadamias.”

Pieter joins Global Macadamias following a brief stint as acting CFO at iOCO from June to October 2024. Prior to that, Pieter worked as chief financial officer at Saint-Gobain Weber South Africa, CHRYSO Southern, Basil Read Limited and York Timbers Holdings Ltd.

Pieter has over two decades of financial management expertise, with a strong foundation in corporate finance, strategic planning and project management. Throughout his career, he worked in a variety of industries, including manufacturing, construction and chemicals.

In his role as Global Macadamia’s new CFO, Pieter will be in charge of assisting the company’s expansion into other markets by using his experience to increase operational effectiveness, streamline financial procedures and promote long-term sustainability.
