CFOs flock to Marble for first ever CFO Day

post-title

An incredible selection of finance executives flocked to Marble Restaurant in Rosebank on 17 July for the first ever South African CFO Day. The annual event is the best opportunity for CFOs and FDs to learn and network together.

Before a special CFO Day lunch prepared by Marble’s famous head chef David Higgs, the programme kicked off with though-provoking start with speaker Michael Charton, telling a poignant story, elaborating on powerful human stories behind South Africa’s history – including the complicated roles tribes and races played.

“This day gives you, CFOs, an opportunity to reflect on the work that you do,” said Graham Fehrsen, MD of CFO South Afirca, when he opened the event, remarking that the entire corporate South Africa is here. “We have put together a programme that touches your head, heart and soul.”

After the introduction by Graham and Michael’s story, it was the chef’s turn to shine with a delicious selection of tuna, kudu and asparagus starters, sea bass and sirloin main course and a subtle cheese platter to follow.

After lunch CFOs would be treated to insights from Altron CEO Mteto Nyati, PPC CFO Tryphosa Ramano, Deloitte Consulting CEO Thiru Pillay, Transunion CEO Lee Naik and disruptor Ian Russell. The breakout sessions in the afternoon would include contributions by PSG CEO Piet Mouton, Supergroup CEO Peter Mountford, Nando’s founder Robbie Brozin and Omnia CFO Wayne Koonin.
