Jonathan Morley-Kirk appointed acting FD at Jubilee Metals

Jonathan Morley-Kirkhas has also been appointed as a director of the South Africa and Zambia-based company.

Jonathan Morley-Kirkhas been appointed as board director and as the interim finance director of Jubilee Metals, effective immediately, until a new group CFO is appointed. 

“I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as an executive director at Jubilee Metals Group PLC with its exciting operations in South Africa and Zambia,” Jonathan announced on his LinkedIn.

The company has since noted that Jonathan will transition to a non-executive role on the Jubilee board. 

“During this interim phase, Jonathan will support the board, particularly the CEO, in engaging with shareholders and advancing the implementation of decentralised executive boards for the company’s operations in Zambia and South Africa, in alignment with the enhanced governance structures,” shared the company in the announcement of his appointment.

Jonathan is a qualified chartered accountant with over 30 years’ experience in senior finance roles in public and private companies, mainly focused on natural resources in developing economies. 

He is currently a non-executive director of Clean Tech Lithium, Bluebird Mining Ventures and Amala Foods, as well as at a number of investment companies and investment funds. Jonathan has also previously served as a non-executive director of various listed companies including Cardinal Resources and East Siberian. 

Speaking on Jonathan’s appointment, CEO Leon Coetzer revealed that Jonathan has acted as interim CFO at a number of private and public companies and has extensive experience managing multi-jurisdiction projects, different teams and governance environments, as well as investor relations. Reuel Khoza has also joined the board of Jubilee Metals after the resignation of the junior miner’s chief financial officer, Neal Reynolds.

“I am delighted that both Reuel and Jonathan have joined our board, and particularly pleased that we can tap into Jonathan’s extensive executive experience of financial leadership within rapidly growing, listed resource companies, during his role as Jubilee’s interim finance director,” said Leon.
