CFO Mohamed Dabbour replaces Cynthia Gordon as Millicom CEO

Mohamed Dabbour has been promoted from chief financial officer to chief executive officer of telecom’s company Millicom’s African operations, replacing Cynthia Gordon. Millicom operates in Africa and Latin America under the Tigo brand name.

Dabbour has been CFO of the African business since August 2015. He has been with the London-headquartered company since 2008, spending time as CFO of operations in Chad and Ghana. Before joining Millicom he worked for Besix, the largest Belgian construction company. He began his career as a senior accountant at PwC in Brussels.

It is not yet known to which company Gordon will be moving.
