Walt Bruns to succeed Hanré Rossouw as Sasol CFO and executive director

Walt, who has been with the Sasol group for fifteen years and has extensive experience in the energy sector, will take on the CFO role from 1 September.

Sasol has appointed Walt Bruns as CFO and executive director of Sasol, starting 1 September 2024. Currently, Walt serves as CFO for Sasol Southern Africa, which encompasses Chemicals and Energy.

Having been a part of the group for fifteen years, he has occupied many high-level roles, such as CFO of Sasol's worldwide chemical division for more than three years. Before he joined Sasol, he was employed by Deloitte in both the US and South Africa.

Simon Baloyi, Sasol president and CEO, congratulated Walt on his appointment, saying: “I am proud that we were able to draw from our internal talent pool for this appointment, which will contribute towards maintaining continuity as we pursue our strategic ambitions.”

Walt is a certified CA(SA) and holds a BCom degree from the University of Stellenbosch and postgraduate diplomas from the University of Cape Town.

Current CFO Hanré Rossouw will step down from his role on 31 August 2024.
