AngloGold Ashanti appoints CFO Christine Ramon as interim CEO

Christine's appointment as interim CEO comes after the resignation of Kelvin Dushnisky as CEO.

AngloGold Ashanti CFO Christine Ramon has been appointed as interim CEO following the resignation of Kelvin Dushnisky after less than two years as CEO. 

Christine, the 2018 CFO of the Year Award winner, has been with AngloGold Ashanti since 2014. She has previously held senior financial management and executive positions in various companies, in particular as CFO and executive director of Sasol from 2006 to 2013. Prior to this, she was CEO of Johnnic Holdings, having previously served as its financial director. 

Kelvin will be stepping down from 1 September, but will be available to assist in the handover until the end of February. 

The company said in a statement that the recruitment process for a new CEO will be designed to search for the candidate with strong leadership skills and relevant industry experience as well as values which are aligned with AngloGold Ashanti.
