Discovery Vitality CFO Senele Mbatha has been promoted to the group's chief risk officer.

On 31 March, Discovery announced that it had appointed Senele Mbatha as its new chief risk officer (CRO). Senele has been working as Discovery Vitality's CFO since April 2018.

"I am excited about the new opportunities that come with this role," Senele said about the appointment.

“It has been an incredible journey as the CFO of Vitality, and I am grateful for the opportunities and experiences that have led me to this point,” he explained. “When I joined Discovery Vitality as CFO, I had no idea how my life, both personally and professionally, would change.”

He added that he has had fun in the role, looking back at his time with Discovery Vitality. Senele reminisced about endeavours to locate state-of-the-art Italian coffee machines that were stuck at the border and tasting pastries for guests at the airport lounge.
