Dimension Data pays homage to CFOs who embrace technology at 2021 CFO Awards

Lauren Wortmann explains that Dimension Data is inspired by CFOs who partner with IT to drive business value.

Information technology services company Dimension Data will be sponsoring the Finance & Technology Award at this year’s CFO Awards.

“We recognise the strategic role that CFOs play as they enable ethical business practice and continuity, especially over the last 18 months of exceptional difficulty during the height of the pandemic,” says Dimension Data head of applications for Southern Africa Lauren Wortmann.

Lauren explains that, over almost four decades, Dimension Data has enabled organisations to leverage the power of technology to sustain their businesses and drive innovation for competitive advantage. “Through technology services, we have been able to transform the way they communicate, collaborate and derive insights from data.”

The winner of the Finance & Technology Award has invested in and unlocked technologies that had the power to transform the business and create new value. The winner is a steward for technology-driven change and develops and shares his or her knowledge and know-how of technology.

“We believe CFOs who partner with CIOs and the IT function to drive business value are unlocking the transformative power of technology,” Lauren says.

When Dimension Data launched its Smart Virtual Workplace solution to the market in 2020, she explains, the company consulted with leaders who accelerated the adoption of digital solutions to drive productivity and to continue to connect with customers. “At that time many CFOs had to find cost-effective solutions to enable productivity and collaboration. As the pandemic progressed, we were able to realise the value of a hybrid workplace, we saw how important employee experience is and how organisations are beginning to drive more agility through employee wellness programmes.”

Lauren adds that technology enabled organisations to continue to collaborate, communicate and provide secure access to business data during periods of lockdown, when employees couldn’t physically attend work. “The CFOs who embraced technology, reduced the level of anxiety faced by their employees and enabled secure collaboration through tools that delivered results for the business. To that we pay homage.”
