Eskom announces new acting CFO, Martin Buys

Martin Buys steps into the role after CEO Andre de Ruyter resigned, and CFO Calib Cassim took his place.

Eskom has appointed Martin Buys as its acting CFO with immediate effect. This follows former CFO Calib Cassim’s appointment as interim CEO after the resignation of Andre de Ruyter.

Martin joined Eskom in 1987 and has served in various roles within its finance function, including his most recent role as general manager for finance.

The company simultaneously announced its interim financial statements. It noted concern over the deterioration in some of its financial indicators compared to the previous year.
