After joining the IDC in 2015, Nonkululeko transformed its long-term planning model and automated its financials.
At the CFO Awards on 15 May 2019, Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) CFO Nonkululeko Dlamini was announced as the winner of the Public Sector CFO of the Year.
The award, sponsored by Deloitte , was handed out by Deloitte Africa consulting leader Thiru Pillay . Unfortunately, Nonkululeko was unable to attend the awards and the colleague at the IDC had to accept the award on her behalf.
Nonkululeko has been the CFO or IDC since September 2015. After joining the organization, she helped transform its long-term planning model and automate the financials. The IDC is now able to pull out its financial position and results in 30 minutes.
She believes in leading by being with the team and has worked hard to change the silo mentality within the organization into one of collaboration. The finance team is seen as a strict but has a good relationship with other departments within the IDC.
Prior to joining the IDC she was with Eskom where she spent 14 years in various executive positions. She served as acting CFO or Eskom Holdings SOC Limited until August 2015. She has been a non-executive director of Kumba Iron Ore Ltd since November 2016. She served as director of Eskom Holdings SOC Limited until August 2015. She holds a B.Com from the University of Witwatersrand and is a CA (SA).
