Nonkululeko Dlamini nominated for CFO Awards 2019

The IDC's CFO Nonkululeko Dlamini has been nominated for the CFO Awards 2019.

Nonkululeko Dlamini has been nominated for her excellent work at the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) as well as her strong leadership skills, which are reflected by her  mentorship and upliftment of younger employees.

In an interview with CFO South Africa, Dlamini expressed her belief that CFOs have a duty to uplift and empower younger employees. “CFOs should be the most approachable people in the business,” she said.

The CFO Awards 2019, known as the ‘Oscars for South African finance professionals’, gives CFOs of listed companies, large corporations, state-owned entities and government institutions the opportunity to be recognised and rewarded for their exceptional performance and leadership.

Nonkululeko has been the chief financial officer of the IDC of South Africa Limited since September 2015 and has been a non-executive director of Kumba Iron Ore Ltd since November 2016. 

Prior to joining the IDC she was with Eskom where she spent 14 years in various executive positions. She served as acting chief financial officer of Eskom Holdings SOC Limited until August 2015 and as director of Eskom Holdings SOC Limited until August 2015. 

Dlamini holds a B.Com from the University of Witwatersrand and is a chartered accountant (SA).

The IDC is a state-owned development finance institution primarily mandated to provide funding for the development of industry in South Africa and the rest of Africa. The IDC provides funding across a number of mandated sectors.
