Ricardo Sardien has been appointed interim group chief executive officer at Old Mutual Botswana. He brings more than 16 years of experience across finance, operations, governance, risk management and strategic leadership to the role.
Ricardo Sardien has been promoted to interim group CEO at Old Mutual Botswana, adding a new chapter to a career spanning more than 16 years across financial services, operations, governance and risk management.
Ricardo previously served as group chief operating officer and group chief financial officer at Old Mutual Botswana, alongside his responsibilities as a non-executive director. His extensive experience within the Old Mutual group has seen him hold a number of senior finance positions across Africa.
Before joining Old Mutual Botswana, he was head of tax reporting and accounting for Old Mutual Africa Regions and finance manager for Old Mutual Africa.
Earlier in his career, he held financial management positions at Grand Parade Investments and developed his auditing expertise at A2A Kopano Incorporated.
He holds a BCom in financial accounting from the University of Cape Town, a postgraduate diploma in accounting sciences from the University of South Africa and an MBA from Universidad Isabel I.
