Rajesh Mahabeer joins Garuda Capital from SANParks

Rajesh Mahabeer, previously CFO of SANParks, has moved to Garuda Capital, effective 1 May 2017. His new role as Head of Public Sector Finance and Deal Origination will see him working in the space of mergers and acquisitions and funds mobilisation.

Asked what he is most looking forward to about this new challenge, Rajesh said:

"The job is a mixture of corporate finance work, deal-making, negotiating and project management. It is very exciting."

A seasoned financial executive with more than 35 years of experience under his belt, Rajesh has successfully steered a number of organisations through difficult periods, including Walter Sisulu University, the Auditor-General of South Africa and SANParks. He is a chartered accountant, a chartered management accountant, an MBA graduate and a PhD candidate at Wits University.
