Sizwe Nkosi nominated for the 2023 CFO Awards

The Phembani Group CFO joins the nominees competing for the CFO of the Year title.

Phembani Group CFO Sizwe Nkosi has been nominated for the 2023 CFO Awards.

He joins the list of finance executives who will be competing for the coveted CFO of the Year title at the annual “Oscars of Finance”, which is now entering its 10th year!

The CFO Awards have a proud history of recognising and celebrating excellence. The 10th Annual CFO Awards will be an exceptional celebration of the finest in finance of 2023, but will also shine a spotlight on 10 years of winners, recognising the enormous contribution made by finance leaders to the economy and direction of South Africa for the last decade.

Sizwe was appointed CFO at Phembani in January 2016.

His 15 years of experience post-completion of articles is predominantly in mining and includes coal, diamonds, phosphates and commodities trading. He was key in driving the successful takeover of Metmar, a JSE-listed company where he held the group CFO position, by Traxys Group, a USA-headquartered company controlled by the Carlyle Group.

He secured his CTA at the University of Kwazulu-Natal (Durban), completed his articles with EY and qualified as a chartered accountant in 2001.

Sizwe also holds an MBA from the University of Cape Town Graduate School of Business.

Sizwe was previously nominated for the CFO Awards 2019.
