The enterprise cloud services provider has partnered with the CFO Awards again this year.

Workday will be showing its support for the CFO Awards again this year by sponsoring and handing out the Strategy Execution Award on the evening of the ceremony.

“CFOs are not only responsible for the financial oversight of the business, but are the most important cog to ensure that the strategy is visualised and executed, and that the overall business operations is optimally run,” says Workday South Africa country managing director Kiv Moodley.

He further explains that effectively pulling together accounting, finance, reporting and analysis across the board, combining it with investor relations and meeting analyst forecasts is a demanding ask. “But the best CFOs are masters of this craft.”

The winner of the Strategy Execution Award has dealt with serious and intense changes in the business environment. Nevertheless, by responding in a timely and agile manner, the business successfully adapted to the new demands and challenges. The new business strategy has been implemented successfully.

The CFO who wins this award has shown great steermanship in creating the right (financial) conditions to execute the new strategy. The CFO and his or her team contributed with valuable insights, analyses, the (re)allocation of assets and the alignment of the finance function with the new strategy. Moreover, the CFO has managed to keep the business financially healthy while staying agile and competitive.

Workday has been a sponsor of the 2022 CFO Awards, which is also known as the “Oscars of the finance profession”, since 2018. The company “simplifies the life of a CFO” by effortlessly combining multiple sources of data into one system, uses machine learning to analyse it, and reports on it as well.

“We allow CFOs to make data-driven decisions in real time, allowing them to be more agile and adapt to this changing world,” Kiv says. “It saves CFOs and their teams an immense amount of time and manual labour, which helps them focus on constantly improving their strategic objectives.”

The annual CFO Awards recognises CFOs of listed companies, large corporations, state-owned entities and government institutions, and awards them for outstanding performance and leadership. The ninth annual CFO Awards will be a celebration of the finance profession at the close of one of the most challenging years in living memory.
